About this product

2-O-(a-D-Galactopyranosyl)-D-glucopyranose2-O-(a-D-Galactopyranosyl)-D-glucopyranose is a disaccharide consisting of two monosaccharides, glucose and galactose. It also contains a hydroxy group on the second carbon atom in the molecule. 2-O-(a-D-Galactopyranosyl)-D-glucopyranose is found in some plants including sugarcane, sugar beet, and sweet potatoes. This disaccharide is broken down by enzymes called beta-galactosidases into its two monosaccharides. Beta-galactosidases are used as an enzyme therapy to treat certain genetic disorders that affect the breakdown of carbohydrates.CAS No7286-57-9MDL NoMFCD15145335Chemical FormulaC12H22O11Molecular Weight342.3 g/molSmilesC(C1C(C(C(C(O1)O)OC2C(C(C(C(O2)CO)O)O)O)O)O)O
