UDP-glucuronic acid (UDP-GlcA) is an activated glucuronic acid donor for glucuronosyltransferase reactions. It is used in studies of glucuronidation and glucuronic-acid-containing glycans. UDP-GlcA also provides the substrate from which UDP-xylose synthase produces UDP-xylose.
