UDP-GalNAz is an analogue of UDP-GalNAc containing an N-azidoacetyl group. The azide enables subsequent detection or conjugation by copper-catalysed azide–alkyne cycloaddition or strain-promoted reactions with suitable partners. Transfer depends on the glycosyltransferase and acceptor. Application focus Useful for studying modified GalNAc transfer and establishing glycan labeling workflows. UDP-GalNAz and UDP-6-azido-GalNAc are positional analogues with different chemical structures and should not share identity specifications.
